About Michelle
With over 20 years of professional experience in consulting, recruiting and career management leadership roles, Michelle partners with her clients, which range from early to mid-career professionals to achieve career success by to helping them clarify their own personal definition of success, gaining insight on the elements of a meaningful career and then empowering them with the confidence and strategies to pursue their career goals.
Michelle's passion for career coaching was ignited during her time as an MBA student when she experienced firsthand the diverse and sometimes conflicting messages MBAs get about what is the "best" career for them. Through her own career choices, Michelle came to realize the importance of defining success by one's own standards and not by those of others, as well as the criticality of proactively reflecting upon and managing one’s career to achieve long term career goals.
Michelle graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate business degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1991. Upon graduation, Michelle then spent 4 years at Information Resources, Inc. providing market research and consulting services to consumer packaged goods clients. Michelle went on to earn her MBA with honors in 1997 from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, and spent the next 5 years in the consulting industry, working as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company, and serving as the MBA Recruiting Director of Deloitte Consulting's Chicago office, where she evaluated and facilitated hiring decisions on hundreds of MBA candidates annually.
After spending a year as a stay-at-home parent, Michelle returned to the workforce by joining The Wharton School's MBA Career Management team as the Career Advisor covering the Consulting and Public Interest sectors. Within three years, she was promoted to the leadership role of Director, overseeing the 20+ member staff and full operations of the Wharton MBA Career Management office at the University of Pennsylvania. During her 4 year tenure as Director, she developed critical relationships and insights across a broad set of industry employers which allowed her to further hone her career coaching and job search skills expertise. As the founder and CEO of Michelle Antonio Career Coaching, LLC, Michelle's client list includes private clients as well as career management centers at higher education institutions such as Harvard Business School, The Wharton School, and Bryn Mawr College.
Michelle currently resides in a northern suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband, daughter and twin sons.
